La Lucha joins forces with J-ME on powerhouse lead vocals with Ona Kirei singing lush harmonies on this slow jam take on Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U. The doctor told her that fretless bass, big drums, and denim would cure this heartbreak...and he's no fool. This song will be promoted on all media outlets with an accompanying performance video.
La Lucha takes on Madonna's "Like a Virgin" joined by trumpet phenom, James Suggs who gives the melody a new life free of hairspray. This could've been recorded on a recently unearthed bootleg cassette from 1987...touched for the very first time.
Featuring vocalist Ona Kirei, this is a fresh take on the 80's classic "Sledgehammer". Ripe with synths, drum pads, and vocoder, La Lucha connects the 1980's Pop music aesthetic with modern Jazz language.
Orilla's debut album is, as the title says, a collection of 'daring flowers', each one different in color, texture, and shape, collected from a wild landscape where creativity grows freely.
The lush title track gives way to a barren, yet hopeful landscape on the minimalistic 'Inútil Paisaje'. The ground turns fertile on the ethereal 'The Whale and The Baobab' and all the colors are displayed on the joyful 'Dona de Mar'. From the intimacy and elegance of the voice and the bass of 'Something', to the solemnity of 'El Cant dels Ocells' where a choir proudly sings, this album is a brave music statement that pushes the the stylistic boundaries of jazz, pop, European, and Latin music.
